Rooms

The Governor’s Mansion Inn features  9 guest rooms, each with ensuite private bath.  Six rooms feature 1 queen bed; 2 rooms are former servants quarters and feature 2 single beds each and our Garden Studio features 1 king bed.   Our Knapp Scholar room on the first floor is fully ADA accessible and features 2 twin beds.  We have free onsite parking.

200 Kohler Room $150-$200  Features ensuite private bath and one queen bed. This room is named after Wisconsin Governor Walter Kohler Sr, who lived in the house as Governor from 1929-1931. Governor Kohler installed the original Kohler bath tub in the ensuite bathroom. This room has a working gas fireplace (not available during the summer months.)

201  La Follette Room $150-$200  Features ensuite private bath and one queen bed. This room is named after Wisconsin Governor Robert M. Lafollette Sr, who lived in the house as Governor from 1900-1905. He ran for President of the United States as the nominee of his own Progressive Party in the 1924 presidential election.

202 Ole Bull Room $150-$200  Features ensuite private bath and one queen bed. This room is named after famous Norwegian violinist, Ole Bull, who lived in the house from 1870-1880. This room has a working gas fireplace (not available during the summer months.)

203 Julius White Room $150-$200 Features ensuite private bath and one queen bed. This room is named after Julius T. White who built the house around 1854 and later became a general in the US Civil War. This room has a working gas fireplace (not available during the summer months.)

205 Thorp Room $150-$200  Features ensuite private bath and one queen bed. This room is named after the Thorp family who lived in the home from 1868-1880. Daughter Sara Thorp at the age of 20 married famous Norwegian violinist, Ole Bull, who was 60 at the time.

207  Rusk Room $115-$160 Features ensuite private bath and a queen bed. Named after Wisconsin Governor Jeremiah Rusk who bought the house for $15,000, but then sold the house in 1885 to the State of Wisconsin to become the state’s first Executive Residence. Rusk was Governor of Wisconsin from 1882-1889.

209 Servant Quarters $95-$150 Features ensuite private bath and two twin beds (twin beds may not be suitable for very tall people.) This small formerly servants room honors the many Wisconsin residents who lived and worked as servants in the home.

109  Knapp Scholar $95-$150 (first floor ADA accessible room)Features ensuite private bath and two twin beds (twin beds may not be suitable for very tall people.) This small formerly servants room is on the first floor and is the only ADA accessible guest room. This room is named for the UW Knapp scholarship program that housed PhD students in this historic home from 1950-2012.

00A Garden Studio $175-$250  Lower level studio apartment with private entrance.  The studio apartment features a king bed, private bath, kitchen, sitting area and dining table.   The common areas of the hotel can be accessed from the outside only.
